2006 Fiesta Not Locking

My Fiesta Freedom has started to refuse to lock and unlock suddenly.

My daily fiasco is.

Me coming out of house, pressing unlock button

nothing

Then pressing unlock button all over car

nothing

Press button from afar

nothing

press button next to boot

nothing

press button next to lock..

FINALLY unlocks!

Then the same happens again when I want to lock it

Also this happens randomly, sometimes it works fine, sometimes it does not

I have resorted to manually operating the locks as Im tired of the charade.

Does anybody have any idea what I could do.

I don't have any battery after market alarms, just a dashcam which it turn off when Im parked.

Got both keys aswell

    a CR2032 iirc...

    Thanks. Yes it was the battery, come to think of it, has been a year since last replaced. Thought it would last longer!

    Replace the battery just a month ago and its already starting to refuse to lock at all now!
