coolant level

Featured Replies

hi

ive had my 1.4tdci mk7 for just over a week now, when i first checked my coolant level about 2 days from getting it it was on min level so i just topped it up with tap water to about halfway in between min and max.

anyway i checked again the other day and it had gone down again to minimum level so ive just topped it up again , what i would like to know is is this just a case of the car being new and the water is just settling around the pipes thus the water going down?

cant see any leaks.

cheers

My dealer told me to expect the levels to go up and down and not to worry, but I have no clue about coolant so probably best not to follow my advice

im going to keep an eye on it , i would have thought it stays at a certain level over a period of time? but like i said it could be where its new and the water is settling in the pipes?

cheers
