Removing Smax Roof Rack

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I've just bought an 09 SMAX, upgrading from a vectra (hiss, etc.). The previous owner had the roof bars fitted and I'd now like to take them off. I've undone the bolts etc. but when I take the brackets away I'm left with a slot in the side rail that runs along the roof without the cover that slips back in. Any idea where I could order four of these roof caps? I'm not even sure what the name is so can't find anything on google to help!!

Ta,

Dom

have you checked every cubbie hole of the car, including the underseat 1s?just in case there hidden in there.

or maybe contact the last owner to see if they have them?

if not then i would say a phone call to the parts dept at your local fords is in order?

Thanks gregers. I'll give it a go. No luck on the cubbie holes. :(

just a thought im wondering if the plastic covers are generic across the range on fords?

if they are then maybe any will fit the holes.

The blanking caps are specific to the S-Max.

LH and RH sets have separate part numbers.

I had a look at my neighnours S-Max as I walked by, and they does look very, very similar to mine (Mk2.5 Focus).

Obviously I didn't whip one off to have a good look...neighbours don't really like us lol

I did track some down at Ford Parts, £5.75 each. Apparently the name is "roof moulding cover"
