Help Choosing My Next Car

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am shamefully looking away from Ford even though they do make great cars.

I am either thinking of getting a r32 mk5 or a BMW 3 or 5 series. I'm really not sure what to go for.

I am going towards the r32 however I'm not sure if I will like the MPG.

Helppppp

Have to be honest fella you trying to get insurance and with your recent points on one of those is going to be difficult...

Indeed ......

Car insurance , poor MPG , High road Tax

My house is more important at the moment to me I went from .

240 BHP Civic type R (ep3) 20 mpg, £285 road tax insurance was cheap as im OLD

to a

2010 1.6 TDCI 109 BHP focus zetec , £30 Tax , 50+ MPG and again good insurance.

I certainly don't miss filling up with fuel every week, now its every month .

You also need to factor in servicing , Tyres which are not cheap on big wheels and any other issues the car will suffer with.

Nowt wrong with a focus ST though exept road tax ,fuel ect lol

Insurance on all of these for me is £800 for the year so insurance isn't a problem

Not bad points included!

Not bad points included!

What do you mean by that?

I mean 800 for your insurance and given your points for recent events that's a good price especially for those cars

I didn't get points bet a temp ban, but yes that is on the insurance.

Sorry matey forgot there was no points but even with the ban there is still a cheap rate for the fiesta let alone the bigger spec cars

Yeah I know. I really don't know what to go for.

Either a 5 series or 3 series because they are still quick but very nice to drive.

Or a r32 because of the fantastic noise and how quick they are. However I'm not sure how juicy they are and how much tax etc is..

E46 M3 or a Mazda 3 or 6 MPS the 6 is 4 wheel drive too.

R32s aren't that quick tbh better choice is a 2.8 v6 4 motion smaller engine but more refined and no noticeable speed difference. Cost less than half of the r32 too, tyres also a lot cheaper.

R32's aren't that quick? What do you class as quick then a 458?? I don't have that sort of money lol

They aren't quick at all, can but loads of cars for much less that will thrash them. Only 250bhp, overpriced crap tbh. Would be better of buying a scooby, better mpg and won't have to worry about frightening repair bills on it either.

.4 seconds quicker than a Fiesta ST lol

  • Author

.4? Oh I thought they was faster than that lol

Nope it's just an NA lump tbh nothing special, better of with the Mazda or Focus ST cheaper, more powerful and if need arises easier to get much more power from, the Mazdas come in a 265 bhp edition more than the focus I think, plus you can get a minter for around 5k for around an 06 plate. If you want German try and see what sort of S3 you can get for the money.
