Wardenjp Lights Are Great Dont Worry About The Glow Solved

Featured Replies

Right today I was outside my Gf's house and looked up after the lights went off ...... a looked closer and there is a glow with the Blue Leds

I'm not too bothered (because they don't use much Volts) but was wondering if would affect the battery? A also checked the other lights (foot well and rear courtesy light and they also glow tiny amount) i tried to take a pic but my phone wasn't letting me .......

if you have them have a look too and see what i mean i have 4 lights and they all do it (2footwell and 2 courtesy)

Let me know how you get on :)

I have a similar thing with the LEDs in my transit not in the ST though, it's never affected the battery as it's only milliamps even when it hasn't been driven for 3 weeks.

cheers mate just wondering why its on

I think you will find this only lasts approx 10 mins (30 mins max) before the battery saver supply cuts all power to the interior lamps. This is the same as when you leave the interior lamp switched on or a door open with it in the courtesy position.

Steve.

This often happens when you replace a large amount of bulbs to leds. There is always a tiny amount of current going through the light system until the energy saver kicks in after about 20 mins and the power stops, but normal bulbs are higher power so the power isn't enough to light them up, but enough to glow leds.

The usual advice is to have one bulb as a standard filament one to draw this small amount of power, the ones usually used are either the glovebox light or maybe a rear courtesy light that would need to be an led.
