Ordered A Fiesta Tit, Am I Crazy?

Featured Replies

Seems to me that with all the safety interlocks etc it's a miracle that the engines ever start. A faulty switch can tell the car that a door is open or a seatbelt isn't being worn etc etc etc. Or am I wrong? I think i've ordered a heap of expensive to fix trouble. We didn't have all this b******s when I were a lad ;)

It's the way of the world now, embrace the technology and enjoy the car.

Then there's the steering lock to consider, on a keyless system. How can you make it failsafe? Imagine it locking at 70mph on the motorway. If a CPU unlocks the steering (IF it works), a CPU glitch could enable it again. All very dodgy. A real key, physically disabling the lock is surely preferable. I've spent a few hundred hours programming CPU's, I deffo wouldn't fly in a plane with one. An A35 van with ecoboost engine is the answer but I can't find one :)

To be honest, like above post, just enjoy it and don't think about it or you won't even get out your bed in the morning.

What color did you get ?

I love mine. I only even just realised about the 2 subtle orangey lights that shine down from the front courtesy lights and give nice subtle reflections on the piano black trim and gear knob.

My kids complain though that there should be red lights in the rear.

Just enjoy the car, no your not crazy it's a ford!

Gone are the days of adjusting the points and timing ect modern cars are basically laptops on wheels evrything runs through the ecu even the light and brakelights in some cases , but they're mostly reliable so just enjoy it

Colour? Since this'll be my 7th car in 50 years I went for something totally outlandish.............red.

I think they shine brilliantly. I had a new MkII XR2 in 85 (red) for 16 years, then a Corsa (red) for 13 years, why break the habbit :)

Think i must be a luddite as i would love a brand new Mk 1 crossflow Escort, reliable, simple to work on and cheap parts.
