Resetting A Bluefin Device When Changing Car

Featured Replies

So I had purchased the superchips bluefin for my old 1.0 ZS, and loved it, the difference it made was awesome, felt more torquey than my ST. When I traded the ZS in I put the original map back on the car.

Today I decided to email superchips to get an idea on how much it would cost to reset the device so I could potentially use it on my ST. Got a quick reply to say that if i had put the original back on my old car, and had purchased the device less than 12months ago, then I could be entitled to a free reset, but that I needed to plug the device into my pc and connect it to their servers so they could verify the above is true.

So I did, they then reset the device, I went and plugged it into the ST, uploaded the original ST map to them, 20mins later I have an email to say the updated map is available. I download the map to my device, plug it back into the car and boom, Ive got a remapped ST for FREE!!

I'm mainly telling you guys this because I know of at least one other member who had a bluefinned ZS and has now got an ST (jordanch) but I guess there could be others, so if you still have the device I would recommend getting in touch with them before your 12months is up!

The difference on the ST standard to bluefin isnt as night and day as on the ZS, and as i havent had the car that long i was still getting used to it as standard. One thing I did notice on my short test drive is it seemed to limit boost in 1st gear standard, whereas now it is mental.

I'm in this situation .had a bluefinned zs less than 12 months old and now have a st.

Thanks for the info i'll see if they will reset and give me a map for mine.

Probably leave it standard for now but it's there for the future if i get used to the standard power and feel the need for more B)

No probs!

If you can get them to reset it and give you an ST map, but not use it, fair play! Better man than me ha

That's good service from superchips to be fair

On the other hand once the unit is over 12 months old there's very little resale value due to the £150 or so to have it reset.

When Dreamscience brought out Focus ST maps they trumped Superchips by giving their units a certain number of 'lives' before a reset was needed.
