Odd Central Locking Problem

Hi guys, noobs here, first focus :-)

I have an 05 1.6 zetec and have a problem with the central locking. It locks and double locks fine with the fob, however unlocking seems random. Sometimes it won't unlock for a good few minutes of repeatedly pressing the button and me walking round the car to find a 'sweet spot'.

Sometimes it works okay at the drivers door, sometimes the passenger door, sometimes in the middle of the front windscreen.

I have a new battery in it, and like I say, locking works fine every time, anyone got any idea what the problem could be? Can unlock with the key, but then of course the alarm goes off.

    Could be the remote itself sounds like the buttons just worn and needs replaced

    Thanks for that, for some reason that hadn't occurred to me! Took the key apart and the switch was loose. Ford quoted £160 (!) for a new one, so I just soldered it back on instead and it works a treat :-)

    If needed replacement fobs are cheap on ebay ford take the mick with their prices glad its sorted
