adamh1988
I've recently bought a 2011 Fiesta Titanium, but am having issues getting the phone and messages to work properly with the bluetooth. It doesn't pick up messages at all. The phone SEEMS to work, it starts dialling, but then it seems to cut out, although my iPhone is still making the call. I am unable to hear the person answer. It is properly bonded, because it plays music from my iPhone perfectly. I have an iPhone 5 with iOS8. Any ideas please?!
Mike77
Could be the IOS8 update causing problems... I know its problematic with other things. Playing music is different to making a call. So that would be my first thought. Maybe try a different phone and see if that works.
adamh1988
Thanks Mike. I will try to borrow a different phone and see if that makes any difference. I read on some other threads something about removing the fuse for a few seconds which has cleared a couple of other issues up. Anyone tried this before? Any success? StumpyBloke
Messages don't work at all on the pre-SYNC models AFAIK. iOS 8 on my iPhone 5s has been very good so far. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
Ews
Hi there, I've got exactly the same problem as you describe. When you make a call it dials for a few seconds then just dies and returns to radio! I'm thinking it could be the phones software causing the problem as well because I have recently had an audio update applied to my bluetooth and it hasn't made any difference with regards to this issue. I have an iPhone 5S and I'm running version 8.0.2. I've read on the Apple Forums that a great many people are suffering from this same problem. So we are not alone! We may have to wait until the next Apple update (rumoured to be 8.1) and see if this rectifies the problem. I too am going to try operating the bluetooth with another phone, it'll be interesting to see if it makes any difference. Please let us know how you get on. StumpyBloke
I bet you will have no problems with another phone or iOS 8.1 (out next week apparently) Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
Ews
Ok Stumpy, that's encouraging news about the next update, cheers for that. I hope it is the phones software causing the problem cos I'm at a loss what to do next if it isn't! Cheers.

Ews
Yeah will do. I know it sounds a bit sad but I just want everything on my car to be perfect (like the rest of us).
StumpyBloke
It's not sad at all. As you say, we all want that for our cars! :) Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
adamh1988
Definitely not sad, it's fair to want the gadgets to work properly! Thanks for the info on iOS8.1 stumpy, fingers crossed this sorts it out. I had a feeling it would probably be a software compatibility issue. Please do let me know how you get on with a different phone Ews, I'm hoping to try this tomorrow with a borrowed phone.

Ews
Ok guys, I've just tested my gf's Nokia Lumia with my cars bluetooth. It worked perfectly, no problems at all. No cutting out, no disconnecting. In fact this is the first time I've tested out the hands free and actually heard someone's voice though the bluetooth since I bought the car some 3 weeks ago. Have to say I'm impressed..it's crystal clear. So from this test I'm assuming IT IS AN iPhone SOFTWARE ISSUE. Hopefully the next update (8.1) will fix this. I really hope so anyway.
