If say I bought my Fiesta from a dealer in timbuktu and had a major prob, say gearbox. Should I expect my local dealer to fix it or would/should he tell me where to get?

My new XR2 (in 85) crunched in 2nd from square one, best I could get from the manager was a recon.

    As long as it has its warranty and the dealer you go to is Ford they will fix it :)

    Any ford dealer will fix cars under warranty regardless of where you purchased it( obviously if its a ford)

    Luckily for you fords registered after 1/9/14 now have all items covered under a 3 year base warranty, before that some items like trim and electrical only had one year base warranty
