Hi to all fellow Ford enthusiasts.

I have had classic cars around me for the past 30 years which have included Ford Prefect ( E493A), Mk 1 Escorts and Cortina's. Mk 1 and 2 Capri's and a Mk3 Cortina.

Presently the only Ford I have is the 1969 Escort Van which the previous owner restored.

During the vans restoration several subtle upgrades were made.

1600 GT rebuilt kent engine including new pistons, oil pump, timing chain etc.etc. It is mated to a 2000E gearbox linked to a Mk3 Capri rear axle.

Rear arches are flared to accomodate the wider axle. Everything newly poly-bushed front and back.

Up front Mk2 Escort struts provide the damping and the disc brakes.

Electric power steering , which is variable at the turn of a switch has been very neatly fitted and totally out of sight. X Corsa unit.

Remote control central locking has also been fitted.

This wee van which was a very sound and straight example prior to complete strip down and rebuild has been painted in it's original colour of Oylimpia Blue with the adition of the RS stripes.

If I keep it I will probally fit a set of Mk1 Lotus steel rims instead of the Mk1 RS steels which are currently fitted.

For MOT now shortly and shall then be UK registered, currently on south of Ireland plates.

Lovely wee van to drive but pressed for garage space as I'm presently restoring one of my 3 Jags which is taking up extra floor space. Might have to move Jag bits up into the garage loft to provide indoor Ford parking.
