Mk2 Boot Light Sensor / Switch

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

i cannot find whereabouts the boot light sensor / switch is in my MK2 focus (5door saloon) cannot even find reference to it in the haynes manual, does anyone on here know where is it located thanks

doesn't it just run from the hatch lock?

i don't know :S all i know is the bulb is ok but it does not come on so next candidate would be the switch i guess where ever that is, was intermittently coming on now nothing :(

did wonder if it was a fuse /power problem as the reverse light looks like its stopped working as well but looks like that runs from a different supply source

The tailgate switch is built into the tailgate latch/motor in the tailgate.

On the wiring schematic for the facelift it's shown on the page for Courtesy Lighting. Power comes through the power saver relay to the lamp, then through the switch to earth. Looks like pins 2 and 4 on the latch motor are the connections for the switch.

May be an earth problem related to both the tailgate switch and your reverse lamp issue?
