Yep that's the general consensus of this job, apart from some apparent sawing of the inlet tubes!

in fact for s***s and giggles im gonna phone up my local dealer and ask them to quote!!

But surely; with the fountain of knowledge on a forum such as this, there must be someone out there who has done this that is maybe willing to share their wisdom....isn't there?

I have seen dashboards on fleabay and it seems as tho its literally just bolt and screw holes!

Ide have a test done first before contemplating a dash out the water pump may be leaking the cap may be leaking etc

Your wallet will most certainly be leaking.

Well just a quick update. I have discovered a massive leak under the car which I now suspect to be a faulty water pump. No real biggie as I need the cambelt changed anyway....just an added part expense there...but one I had kinda budgeted for.

Anyway, it still doesn't solve the water in the footwell situation. Well I say water its actually got the consistency of screen-wash but without the smell. Its odd. I checked for leaks at the matrix and I cant see any. I have no idea where its coming from. Ive mopped it up and will check it again in a few days. I also noticed its blue and not red or pink as per usual with Ford. I guess I need to put some red coolant in then I can truly identify if its coolant coming in to footwell.

Nitemare.....but as a side question, has anyone know of leaks from screen wash ending up here?

Whats blue? The footwell water or the coolant? You're confusing me now haha. It should be longlife red stuff for coolant, mixing them can cause problems!

Screenwash bottle is near the drivers arch, so its possible I guess, you'd notice your screenwash running out quickly though. Alternative e is the screen leaking, and theres screenwash in it from normal use.

Yeh sorry, the footwell water is blue....and so is the coolant.

Once I change that to red and then don't see red in the footwell; then I know its not a matrix issue and its something else.... and my water loss was ultimately due to the waterpump or whatever the external leak is.

Cant really move forward until I get that changed.
