Where's The Best Place To Get....

Featured Replies

a) Brake pads

b ) Front lower wishbone rear bushes

c) Timing belt kit

MOT next month so I took the car to see my mechanic mate for a quick look over. Brake pads are nearing the limit so might as well get them changed.

Front lower wishbone rear bushes are needing changed. I've Googled and eBayed but I ended up getting confused (easily done!) I couldn't find any on fordpartsuk and Google throws up ones from a fiver up to £70!!! I'm not looking for high performance super hard ones just 'normal' ones.

Looking on fordpartsuk I found what looks to me like the INCORRECT timing belt kit (1672144) for cars made after April 2005 but when I put my VIN/chassis number into basket it accepts it as the correct one, our car according to ETIS was made in Jan 2005.

Got oil and filter coming home for it as well! Is it advisable to change the sump plug at the same time? I can't remember doing it ever before

I know I could go to our local motor factors but I always seem to think their prices are a touch on the high side! So recommendations for somewhere cheap(er) would be gratefully received.

Cheers.

Ebay is cheapest for most things these days tbh, just need to make sure you're getting the right parts and either originals or quality aftermarket brands.

ECP has got a sale on atm, they should sell everything you need and be slightly easier to choose the right parts.
