Inherited C Max Mpg

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've recently inherited a 2.0 titanium auto C Max from my sister in law.

It's a lovely car for our needs (kids). My only issue is that it's going to ruin me if we drive anywhere.

Our previous diesel Megane would get 60mpg average (lots of a roads where we are) but I'm pleased just to see 20mpg at the moment.

I am aware that a petrol auto will return far less but the advertised mpg is 40. Can it really be half that?!

I've read a few of the tips about resetting system by removing the battery cable and I've ordered a new air filter just in case.

Is there anything else I can do before I have to remortgage my house to pay the fuel bill?
