Reset Door Module

Featured Replies

I had to replace main battery in my Focus CC a couple of month ago.

As it was fairly cold I didn't lower the roof but last week I wanted to clean rubber seals and opened it.

Normally before roof is operated, windows drop down a bit then roof folds and windows go up to where they were when roof was closed.

After battery change the driver's window works as usual but the passenger's window goes down all the way and stays there after roof is closed.

I need then to close it manually (I mean by pressing and holding the button).

I remember that with my Mondeo there was a sequence I had to perform to reset door module. Is there such a thing for Focus CC?

Very likely - all of Ford's door modules from early 2000 (ish) lose their anti-trap settings when you disconnect the battery. There should be a section in the handbook which tells you how to re-initialise the windows, usually around where it tells you procedure for jump starting and so on. Don't know if procedure is same for the CC as the saloon/hatchback with the difference in window operation

Usually you press the button to lower the window all the way down let go of the button then press and hold down for 5 secs repeat the process putting the window all the way up let go and hold button up for 5 secs repeat this on the passenger side

Thanks guys!

I've looked in the manual (d'oh - should have looked in there before asking stupid questions!) and the procedure is in there.

It is similar to what artscot79 procedure but with an additional presses for CC.

In short, it is as follows;

1. Close roof and both doors - the process won't work with doors open, apparently.

2. Press Window Up button until window closes then release.

3. Press Window Up button again and release.

4. Press Window Down button untli the window is all the way down, then release

5. Press Window Down button again and release.

6. Press Window Up button until window closes then release.

The door module is then reset.
