Car Theft ?

Featured Replies

Hello I have a ford kuga titanium x 2014. Today there was some guys around it checking it out. The thing is I know one of the keys there that recently came into my barbers and he told me about this keyless hacking thing to steal cars etc. well I never knew him before this day. But I'm guessing I have been followed home as how would they no where I live? My car is fob entry but has key holes for the door and keyless start. Is this easy for them to take with out having my fob etc thanks

It will be easy for anyone to take with the right know how and tools.

If your worried about an attempt being made to steal your car then you should by a security device of some sort. I have seen posts on here recently where guys are buying the old school style steering wheel locks.

A steering lock will make them move onto an easier target.

It is also recommended that you move the OBD port out of it's location and tuck it up behind the dash panel somewhere.

This will hinder them from using the technique they employ to hack the ECU and override the security systems.

Try to find a local company that can disable the OBDII port, as well as moving it out the way as Stoney suggests.

I would move the OBD port myself, or, activate a secret switch that disables and disconnects the main 12v wire at least. heck, if I was you, I would wire in multiple switches so that even if they find one, then they need to activate say 3 or 4 before the thing will work!
