55 Plate 1.6 Tdci Throttle Body Location

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I've scoured the Internet looking for the location of the throttle body in my Focus, I want to give it a good old clean. I used a whole can of carbon cleaner on the throttle body in my Golf and it worked a charm! But as I'm yet to buy a Haynes for the Focus, can someone please help me out!

Thanks in advance, Sam

Hi.

Was your Golf a petrol? There isn't a throttle body on a diesel.

If it was a diesel, sounds like you cleaned the EGR/anti shudder valve.

Aah now that makes sense, it was a petrol, I also cleaned out the EGR in the Golf. Seems like the EGR on the Focus is next on the hitlist then! Shame it's a pain to reach!

Thanks for your response

No worries, I'm sure the EGR valve can do with a clean tbh!

If the state of the EGR in the Golf is anything to go by, I'm sure it could do!
