Rattling Noise On Fiesta 1.4 Tdci. Help Please

Featured Replies

Hi. I have a fiesta 1.4 tdci 03. The cam belt and clutch have been changed recently by the previous owner. I have got a rattling noise coming from the left hand side of the engine (as if you are looking at the engine). It has got worse recently. It is intermittent but does it very frequently of that makes sense. Do you know what this could be? The previous owner did say that they hit a couple of potholes and it seemed to have started from then. Don't know if this could be relevant. Any help would be much appreciated

Is the engine rattling when stationary or when you are driving?

Both really, it's seems to do it when accelerating aswell

If the cam belt has been replaced who did it and what did they replace all of the necessary parts or just the belt?

Get it checked quickly!

I'll try and find this out. I know the previous owner and his family member had it before him so it shouldn't be a problem. I'm really worried about it now. Is there anything else it could be of do you reckon it's that?

I've just spoke to the previous owner and it was the whole kit that was replaced. Could hitting potholes put the timing out or anything like that? Sorry if that's a silly question but I am female and have got a clue lol

Without the car in front of me and listening to the noise, no.

Not sure how a pothole can damage the engine unless it was 10 feet deep!

I plan to take it to be looked at as soon as possible. I could take a video and send it so you could hear the noise?

Yes please

The file is too large to upload to here. Am I able to email it to you?

Can you just record the sound, video not required.
