Speaker Making Rattling Noise Sounds Blown

Featured Replies

Right was playing my music today and heard a rattling noise come from passenger side at first I thought something was in the door storage Nothing......

Then checked the glove box then realised it's coming from speaker itself! (front passenger woofer) as I
Don't think that's on the warranty so......

Either upgrade
(i love the original speakers) or
Get original one again what you think and is It hard to get it swapped myself ?

My rear left is knackered, not sure whether to upgrade or get a replacement.. Plus my local ford garage's parts dept are next to useless! Don't want to take it to them as they'll say 'leave it with us today but we can't get you a courtesy car'

yeah ano lol checked the forums but found a couple wee threads but no really answered but if anyone knows what upgrades and if its hard to do yourself etc let us know :D

Why isn't it covered by the warranty? That's like buying a new CD player and finding the speakers aren't covered by the warranty. Did the dealer actually tell you they aren't covered?

a dno am guessing its not can anyone confirm this?

I'd expect anything that develops a fault like that, especially a part that has broken and is an inconvenience should be covered by the warranty. If it's not I would definitely complain, and go as far as trading standards if necessary.

al give them a call later on and see how it goes and let ye know

I think the speakers work the same as globes do, they can't really guarentee them. I'f you play your music at it's max it won't last as long as someone playing it at the bottom end of the hearing spectrim, personally if mine went I wouldn't bother with standard OEM products, I think the after market speakers are way better and in some cases cheaper, depending on the make. I replaced the front 5inch speakers in the doors of my old Toyota Conquest with Sony's and they were mutch better, that was 12 years ago, so I'm sure the products have improved even more sins then.

Good to know! Mine can take a bit more abuse then. I have a sub in the back but one has to listen loud to get the most enjoyment out of their music ;)

Mine defo doesn't sound like that, so thats screwed that excuse of theirs. there's a definite rattle / buzz going on, take a deaf man not to notice that, it's very evident. Hope you get it sorted by them bud :)

You should have just said to them "ok if that's true then prove it". They could have taken you to one of the 40 odd Fiestas they have lying around their dealership and proved their point, that is if they weren't lying and trying to fob you off lol.
