Jobsworths!

Featured Replies

So fired up at the moment and it seems I managed to annoy the wife with it as well!

Got out this morning to the car to find some jobsworths parked his van on our one way street in a way that I couldnt just pull out and get round him, so I had to manouver the car backwards to reverse up the one way street, so I could get the car in line just to get past his van. Took the kids to preschool and dropped them off with a fight (they didnt want to go, but then they dont want to most the time and yet still enjoy it!).

Anyway, got back to our one way street and start to park the car in front of my house, where there is the same jobsworth is stood in the middle of the parking bays and tells me he has a delivery coming and he needs me to park somewhere else down the road!

I am currently and have now been for about 2 months, walking with a walking stick because of some sort of attack thats left my right leg part paralysed. So I told him that, and he said its the only place the van can get parked. I decided I better leave this fight because recently my anger management skills have been on par with my vauxhall toleration ability. So I drove off about 300 yards down the road, and proceeded to hobble back to the house on the walking stick. The missus commented to him that if he wants to do it properly he should be contacting the council and getting permits for this sort of blockade to which he replies "I know" and yet he still did it. She mentioned that I am on my walking stick and I have just had to do a long walk which is painful and difficult enough, his reply was "well, we have a job we need to do down the street and thats a long walk for us". Well, I didnt realise being completely able bodied was more difficult than having an unknown condition which has left you part paralysed. I just replied with a "oh, well thats alright then" and got into the house. If I didnt, I know I would have been picked up in handcuffs instead of typing this post.

Seriously, some people just need to learn! respect people who actually live in the area your working, and also to respect the situation other people face themselves in. If I saw someone had a walking stick and was in his position, I would have apologised and being able bodied made alternative arrangements. Perhaps I am just expecting too much from people!

Anyway, the missus now is angry at me because I shouldnt have said something and just left it, seemingly ignoring the fact I acknowledge where my anger levels are and Im making the right decision that prevents me from being locked up!

Ohh that'd make me quite angry as well, Especially if it's residential parking, they have no right to block it off! and the lack of caring for the fact that you're clearly struggling with your leg! I probably wouldhave ended up in an argument, I'd have written down what company they were working for if you could, when the delivery arrived and made a complaint

OK, I deem today to be the day of NRAD - National !Removed! Appreciation Day!

So, Mr Jobsworths flatbed arrived, to drop off fence panels. He pulls the car up across the pavement and after Mr Jobsworth starts slagging off "some moaning idiot on a stick" they proceeded to unload the van. Now, there was enough space behind him for a car, so the jobsworth flatbed was reversed by about 2 foot, just to make sure no one could get in.

I got a call from preschool, as one of the kids wasnt well. Out we go to pick him up.(this run I might add is about 4 miles round trip!) Anyway, after only 3 turns of the wheels, I am met by an idiotic HGV who has parked up on double yellow lines to unload, leaving no room to see around him, so as I approach and find theres a car coming, I had to stop the car aggressively and move back into the side of the road, leaving not really much room between my radiator and his rear end.

Got past him, and then there is another idiot, driving the Hempstead Valley Football Club van, he was coming out of a tight bend road I needed to get down, so I left him a good distance and flashed him out. He comes out and doesnt say thanks - the reason - because he is busy texting on his phone!!!

So I pick the kids up and off I go back home. I bet none of you will guess what variety of car was next to annoy me? anybody? any guesses? yes, your right, it was a Vauxhall :) This guy I dont think understand how parking works, for you see - the parking space at the side of the road was enough to fit in my Mondeo, let alone this guys astra (might I add with room to spare). This jokers rendition of parking was to pull two wheels into the line, and block the rest of the road. Then to offload his family into the middle of the road with traffic coming from both directions. At least he had the good graces to thank me for my patience... By which point I was exceptionally irritated.

So I proceed home, and within 300 yards, one final jobsworth! The local Council in there transit style litter trucks slammed on his anchors with me right behind him, threw his car onto the kerb, then put his flashy orange lights on, and then decided to indicate left.

Seriously, people are just bonafied fists today...

Dont I know it James, unfortunately both of them seem to be indies, as there are no markings on the vehicles. However, I might just share the number plates for all to see...
