Jockstar
I'm going to attempt to fit a new drivers seat today in my Ford Focus mk2 (full leather interior to go in). The drivers seat is electric and I need to find out if my existing loom will make it work. Do I need to disconnect one of the battery terminals for 10 minutes to make the airbag safe? Micro
Any work on the electrical system, it is recommended to have disconnected the battery. (At least negative terminal). Do not put yourself in front of, or between the airbag and another object, just in case it does deploy. Although if you are not removing the module from the seat then you should be safe. troy45
Think the procedure in ETIS says 60 seconds but any longer wouldn't hurt.
Jockstar
I removed the seat with the ignition off. I was just removing the block connector and everything went fine with the battery connected.
