Aux Not Working?

Hi all, I've tried plugging in my phone through the headphone jack into the aux socket in the glove box but no sound, have also plugged in and bluetooth receiver with a 3.5 jack on the end and still no sound when I press the aux button. I have a 2009 zetec with a 6000cd stereo, anyone have any ideas please?

    Sounds stupid but have you turned the volume up on the phone etc? Failing that you'll need to look at the cable make sure its plugged in correctly

    Ha ha yeah I tried both volumes, did cross my mind several times! Should it have been connected up from when it was first bought, I've only had the car two weeks.
