Focus Locking Problems

Hi,

I have a 2001 Focus LX and i am having some problems with the locking and not sure where to start with my investigations.

Firstly everything works fine if i use the remote locking on the key, i can lock and unlock all the doors and i can unlock the boot fine. My problem is two fold, firstly if i put the key in the door (the old fashioned way :D) and unlock the door it only unlocks the door i put the key in it doesnt seem to trigger the centrol locking (both with locking and unlocking). Secondly when i press the boot open button on the dash nothing happens.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated
