1.8Tdci Focus Remap

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Looking at getting my 56-plate 1.8TDCi remapped at Celtic Tuning in Cornwall. Cost of a stage 1 is £250 and purports to offer 267 lb/ft (207 lb/ft) and 150bhp (from 113bhp) They also offer an economy map which offers 238 lb/ft and 136 bhp which is more tempting but obviously the devil in me wants the higher map.

The clutch and DMF were both replaced last year at approx 100K - car is now 112K; the turbo was also refurbished around the same time.

I am extremely tempted but am also put off heavily by the fact it'll likely cause excessive wear to engine components which is why the economy map is tempting.

I'm not a slow driver; I do drive within the speed limit but often drive hard up to. I'm undecided whether to map or not.

Any advice is genuinely appreciated.

do it!

i was also looking at celtic tuning, they quoted £295 for me, thats including travel charges to get to me and install the map at home

Go for the 150bhp map as you can always drive economically when you want to and if you need power then its there. 150bhp will be a massive hike and it will feel like a new car.

go for it

I'm tempted by a remap on my cmax, figures at around 166bhp up from 136bhp with torque to 390 up from 330. I had a box of frogs and I enjoyed that. Power when I needed it. The drive felt so much better but removed it as I didn't want the extra fueling and cause problems. But I would defo go for a remap.

Had my c-max 1.8 tdci done at carlton tuning Barnsley.. Only 100 for stage 1 and carbon clean 👍👍👍much better now to drive

YeAH do it mate. the price is pretty good for Kernow too!

Got my 1.6tdci remapped for £120 with a mixed map increase performance and eco. Felt the difference straight away. Aslong as you keep it serviced and dont go silly by dropping the clutch and giving it the beans youll be fine.

Got offered to give my 1.0 ecoboost a remap for £160. All done professionally at a place in maersk (near teesside). For a extra few ££ he will even get it on a dyno to show u before and after figures. Give him a search on fb if interested. Campbells tuning...shows as in redcar but its in maersk.
