Hi

unfortunately i dont know know the make of alternator it was but i got it from a reputable auto electrical seller and he matched it to the old one from the car while i was standing in front of him and as far as i know they were the same make .would it cause a problem if it is a different make ?

alan

could a number of things, unlucky with alternator faulty, wiring issues, pcm fault

can only check proerly with a multimeter

Check the 3 wire connector that comes from the alternator. Mine corroded near the pcm and caused the light to come on.

As above , known for corroded wiring anywhere between 3 pin plug and pcm

Eurocarparts and RTX alternator???

Google RTX alternator and you will find lots of examples of the same fault.

This is the very reason I asked what brand of alternator. RTX are absolute rubbish. I don't know why ECP are still trying to sell them!
