Featured Replies

Is there a ''use by date'' on things like toothpste/shampoo etc.

I have 2 new boxes of toothpaste and all i see is a number and a few letters.

There is normally a symbol like the one in the picture below, that indicates the lifespan of the product once opened. For example, in the picture below, the lifespan is 12months.

Like in the picture below? If so it refers to what type of plastic the packaging is made from, and the plastic type is indicated by the number.

These are common recycling symbols

I hope shower gel doesn't have a use by date - in my parents' bathroom there's a shower gel that I think is at least 10 years old lol. Nobody uses it, especially not me, yet for some reason it's still there.

Its like the ''green dot one'' 2nd one down on the right but in black and white.

It has no date on the jar just this symbol.

Some manufacturers may print it in black and white to save costs. Although not used in the UK it can still commonly be seen on packaging.

As for lack of date, is it stamped into the crimped end of the toothpaste? I think some products may not have a date depending what's in it / legislation.

Lol, I think it's wise you don't use it.
