Focus Tdci Instrument Cluster/imobilizer Problem

I have posted to the forum a while ago with the problem. The reason I have created a new thread is because I have bought a diagnostics cable and have been sent back supposedly fixed Instrument Cluster.

The first thing I want to mention first is that the cluster came back with the same symptoms as it was before they fixed it.

Flash code 16 - communication problems.

I have performed a self test for the IC and here are the following faults I have found

U1147 SCP (J1850) Invalid or Missing Data for Vehicle Security Permanent U2197 Invalid 'Vehicle Speed' data Permanent U2200 Invalid 'ODO Count' data Permanent

Could it be the wiring is faulty? Or the instrument cluster has not been fixed and is still giving me the problems as before? what is your take on this?

    Has the main C90 wiring harness in the centre of the engine fuse box been removed at any point before this problem started?

    If it has then remove and reseat it making sure no pins are bent and it is correctly seated as this will cause communication loss to the PCM and HEC which can cause your fault.

    The reason you get the code 16 flashing is because the PCM did not receive the data for the transponder from the HEC (IC).

    I had the same issue after messing with the C90 connector on my car.

    I have managed to sort it out. Went through all the fuses and relays once again, reset ECU with diagnostics cable and it started. Not sure which part did the trick, but car is back on the road.
