Revs Question / Clutch Solved

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Many thanks for the input earlier this week . I went ahead and got the clutch replaced and what a difference! Now bites about half way up the pedal . Also had aux and AC belt replaced as well as water pump and whine and clicking noise stopped so hope that is an end to the bad stuff happening for a while . Not good for 35k but live and learn.

One small question as i cant remember it happening on my other cars . When i rev up in neutral all is well and no misfire or anything but when i take foot off the accelerator and the revs drop it seems to stutter once or twice on the way down.Is this pretty normal with the Focus ? Please dont tell me it is another worry! I hope its just a normal thing . Anyone going to nip out and test their 1.8 Mk2.5 to put me at ease and get me off the valium? ;-)

Many thanks as always folks and hopefully now i can stop asking and do more helping others!

My mk2.5 does this from time to time, I have always thought it to be the 'anti-stall' feature

Cheers Kat,think my anxiety is starting to calm after the car week from hell ;-)

Yeah I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Mines the mk2.5 and 1.8 petrol. Its always done but never actually stalled.

Sometimes when i rev it a little in neutral the revs stay up for a bit even though my foots off the pedal.

The clutch will quickly settle at the top again the hydraulic clutch will always revert to before
