Car Due It's Px Appraisal Tomorrow

Featured Replies

My current car is due it's part exchange appraisal tomorrow, so I've given it a wash inside and out ready, is there anything else anyone can suggest I do for the best price? Do i depersonalise at this stage? it's still got my Ariel topper on the Ariel and flower in the inside air vent, I was planning on taking those off when I exchange

Though the thing is they've already given me a px cost / price, can they change the quote? More would be fantastic!

I might even get to see my new car tomorrow too! :d it's due to be delivered to the showroom tomorrow too, so chances really are 50/50 but eeeeeeeeee!

to be fair part ex price doesnt change based on the quality of the wash of the car! when it comes to dealers and traders, they dont tend to look too deeply, they tend to look at the glasses guide, then a quick look at the bodywork to see how much its going to cost them.

Honestly you could spit polish it to kingdom come and it wont gain that much - its only really private sales where you get the benefit!

De-personalise a.s.a.p. & look everywhere as you're likely to be too excited about your new car to give much thought about the p/x.

+ 1 on the trade in value.

Good luck with new car - enjoy !

like others have said, you could polish a !Removed! and the dealers wont give you a bean more then what there bible says.

they have margins to adhere to,and that means !Removed! every customer for as much as they can.

They already know the price they want to give you regardless,,,, sometime the only thing that will change it is milage and the threat of losing a deal that your part x ing against.

my wife had a 7 year old C4 from new in mint condition and they offered 1700 which is what thier bible said, i knew i could push them as it only had 14k miles on it,, they moved to 2k but with a threat of walking i squeased 2200 from them,,, but this was only because i was buying a car from them and mine was part ex.

Aye, the Bible is only for the average car, go above or below that mileage by a significant margin and your bent over!

Update: well they didn't try and knock me down any further, didn't offer me more either but that was as you said to be expected

Unfortunately still haven't seen my new car as it's still not over there yet, it was a 50/50 chance though :(
