Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec (61 Plate) Rear Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

Hi

I have recently become an owner of a Ford Focus after years of owning a Nissan Almera and what a difference there is between the two cars with the Focus light years ahead.

I have a query to run by the members of the Ford Focus Club which I hope that someone can help with and my query is in relation to the rear parking sensors. When I engage the car into reverse I get the beep letting me know that I am in reverse but after that the sensors don't tell me when I am approaching things. Does anyone have any hints or tips to rectify this problem.

Many thanks

Are they factory fitted sensors or aftermarket ones? So if you reverse very close to something then theres no sound at all? Should start bleeping at around 3-4ft away im guessing, then increaee speed of bleeep until constant close up.

If its doing none of this then theres a fault on system.

They are factory fitted and there is no sound at all. How would I check and sort out the problem?

no easy way to check , you can check under neath bumper if multiplug is connected secure, the connectors on the sensors,

if nothing obvious there then get ford dealer to check sensor operationon there ids diagnostics, wont take long for them to check if any sensors not working.

think if 1 sensor fails then the others stop working temporarlly
