Dashcam Owners - Extend Battery Life

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I was thinking about this recently, I know for example the battery life in my dashcam is pretty poor (a few minutes at best) and I was thinking of simple and inexpensive ways to extend battery life and I think I found a simple way.

Emergency Phone Chargers.

Plug the charger into the 12v, this should charge the battery, then plug your dashcam into the phone charger - this should power your charger.

Now if you disconnect the main feed, your still running on the battery from the phone charger, so you can continue to use it, and also, when that expires you then have a fully charged battery in the dashcam!

These things tend to run power for at least a few hours - even the cheap ones run at least 50% power into a phone battery whilst the phone is turned on, so I recon it would do a couple of hours easy on a dashcam!

Just thought I would share it in case anyone had been wondering if there was a simple way around it :)

Sounds like a good idea, although the Mobius with the new battery is supposed to have over 2 hours of battery life so I shouldn't need to do that :)

that is true!

Its just something I thought about, as I use my emergency charger to charge all sorts including batteries lol just thought it might work for those who dont have the greatest battery life!

Is it getting an upgraded capacity battery? Or is the Mobius being redesigned altogether?

It had a slight redesign a few months ago, nothing really noticeable on the outside but it has a few new features including a larger capacity battery.
