sparks_ap
Hi guys, completely new to the forum so just throwing a question out there that has come up recently. I've got a 2005 1.4 TDCI and the other day the coolant light came on in the car saying that it was overheating. Checked the coolant reservoir and pretty much all the liquid had gone. I had filled it up as routine maintenance a couple of weeks before. In the last few days since it has just kept drinking the coolant. Having to fill it up every 50 miles or so. Put some K-Seal in and it doesn't seem to have done anything. If anything the water is draining faster. Just checked the coolant reservoir again and the little water that is left is really foamy. The car smokes quite a bit from the engine, especially when idle. It's a mix of blue and white smoke. I've had the car for about 6 months and its always been quite smoky. The garage i bought it off repaired it for me saying it was something to do with emissions deep in the engine. What could this potentially be? Just need a heads up before I go to the garage. Don't want them to scam me. Cheers.
Nathan54771
White smoke means water Blue smoke means oil Check you dip stick and filler cap on top of the engine, look inside aswell on the engine head, if the oil is creamy and emulsified then there's a possibility its your head gasket or a crack in the engine head.
