Im wanting to change my 5speed gearbox to a 6speed in my focus mk2.5 1.8 zetec s any ideas on what gearbox i can use and im gonna need to change it all over?

Why do you want a 6 speed box? I would be willing to bet the final drive ratio is hardly any different, more gears generally just means shorter gears.

eh i dont think you appreciate what youre asking but the 5 speed is an ib5 gearbox the 6 speed is the mtx gearbox different box different shape different mounting the current focus isnt set up for 6 speed gear ratios a newer focus box wont work either different sensors, shafts, gear linkages probably a load of other things too including wiring.if you want to know thw difference between the 5 speed and 6 speed box other than gear ratios the revs are lower by 500 rpm at 70mph in the petrol 5 speed youde need to do at least 80mph to see any benefit from it thats it theres a reason people dont do it ....its not worth the hassle
