Avoid "motor Mania" Manchester

Featured Replies

There are a number of positive reviews on Google for motormania but I was more intrigued by these:

"Fantastic service from the Court Bailiffs who finally managed to recover the cost of the deathtrap they sold to us. The Ford Ka was sold to us was sold with a clean MOT issued on site. My local garage stopped work on the car when he found 18 faults, 6 of which were extremely dangerous. VOSA wrote the car off. It took 18 months and a trip to Court to get our money back. ***AVOID AT ALL COSTS***"

"dishonest car salesman, sold me a car for £4200 and the car turned out to be a catD write off. since then the power steering pump went and the gearbox too. we had the car a year and have just sold it for £800 as it would cost too much to repair. i do hope trading standards take action against this prick as it seems to me he is ripping everyone off. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Not even worth one star. Sold us a car with faults on the computer as long as my arm! cowboys won't give a refund!"

It seems they are no strangers to this sort of shenanigans.

I'll be honest I'd not seen that review... But it sounds about right as they took a bmw in for MOT whilst I was there and it was back outside within 10 minutes

Any luck finding the advert?

Any more progress on this Kieran? Did you contact Autotrader or manage to find the printed advert?

I've just given up. I've no motivation to sort that or anything else to do with cars at the minute. Just going to cut my losses & move on. I'll leave this thread as a warning to people

That's a shame but at least the word has been spread. These dodgy dealers who don't comply with consumers rights know that people have got so much else going on that 9/10 won't pursue it etc.

One day they will come unstuck I am sure of it. I remember reading about a woman who bought a washing machine from Curry's and it went wrong out of its 12 month warranty. She approached Curry's who virtually laughed in her face.

She brought a claim against them and they took the attitude of superiority. They had all the power and money and she would lose so they refused to settle. 1 day before the court hearing, they caved in and coughed up a new machine for her. They knew they would lose in court but came across confident, just like a game of poker. They bluffed and she called it!

I shall continue to patrol this sub-forum because I'm the member the forum deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So I'll move on to other problems. Because I can take it. Because I'm not a member. I'm a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A Dark Knight!

:-D

Motormania Manchester is a disgraceful garage. We have had problems with them. They are just scam merchants.

Please leave a review of this place on their google+ page or similar. As more and more people are reading reviews before buying from or using a garage. It may be enough to make somebody think twice about buying there.

While you are on the motormania google+ page you will also see the fake positive reviews from the garage itself.

I've just gone to leave a review and it wouldn't post so ill try again later. Sure enough, at least two of those reviews are the garage itself as I've a list of all the managers names and they're on it!

What problems did you have; out of curiousITY?

just read this topic, what a nightmare, good warning to others but always worth letting Trading Standards know, also there's a TV programme on Channel 4, Rogue Traders I think it's called, would be worth letting them know

Never even thought about contacting Rogue traders! Couldn't be bothered contacting trading standards as they would need more than one complaint to come forward
