Grinding/chirpy Noise When Engaging Double Lock

Featured Replies

Ever since I got the car (it's a 2008 Zetec 1.6 petrol), I noticed that whenever I applied the deadlock (pressed lock on the remote fob twice) the second lock would make a quick and sharp grinding noise, almost like a chirp. I read this is just the sound of the alarm activating, but then I found out the alarm activates on the first lock, so I'm wondering if this is normal behaviour or something is wrong?

Thanks

It is a faulty deadlock on one of the doors. Don't worry, most of them do that, mine included. IIRC it is quite expensive to fix, so most people leave it. As long as the doors lock that is all that matters.
