MattDRX
Morning All, Cant take owning a Giant Merc anymore, it's ruining me and getting on my nerves. I can ditch it now and only make a loss of £800 minus cost of small bits I've had to buy. It's not too bad is it? Can't live it with it anymore, needs to go. just chucked another £110 of Diesel in it 5 days after the last lot lol.
Incontro
Lol, better now than never I guess. I'd get rid of it, and just chalk it down to experience. Those things can be absolute money pits, not only in terms of fuel consumption, but maintenance further down the line. (Just my 2c).
MattDRX
Been on the blower to various car buyers and come across one this morning, offered me £21,500 for it, paid £22k on the dot so a touch better. Needs to go I think, will try and run down the fuel as much as I can. Needs new tyres soon too, they weigh in at a whopping £170 each and it does need 4 as wearing evenly. Goodkat
Take the 21.5k and move on, if the car isn't for you dust it off as experience. I have done this a couple of times but lost more money than that in the process! Sent from my Gen 1 WAP phone
MattDRX
it's going on the weekend. No idea what to get next. May go for an S1, fancied one for a while now and they've dropped below this in price now. quickest small hatch around. Big cars just don't work for me, Christ knows how people live with Giant RR's and constantly tipping fuel into them everyday. let alone parking the !Removed! things. richard150
its not bad only to lose 500 £ so I would cut by losers and get a ford
MattDRX
No Ford out I want / can afford. would only want a mint Escort Cossie or an Rs200, too much money. Not having another ST, want something 4WD or more.......frugal than a ford. looked briefly at Frs S2 but too much money for what it is, Mazda 3 MPS has the same specs and only costs 4k compared to 20 because it has an RS badge etc on it. chrisroberson99
Parking isnt too much of a problem with the Range Rover, it has surround cameras and sensors. :P MPG is about 36 ish which isn't too bad for a 3 litre brick. I'd buy a Ford or Peugeot for that kind of money but I know you don't like either of them.
Philf1
Can you wait for the new Focus RS?

MattDRX
Don't want a Focus, will be well over budget as well. Liking the S1, 23k for a year old model fully speccd with every goodie it can have. quite a rare car tbh, not many for sale. thought there'd be more about. Scoobies are just pigs on fuel and I resent paying £500 to tax a car, just a joke. would be awesome though. Something awesome I noticed was a 2001 911 Turbo lol going for 19k, wonder what it's like to run. Still may just go with the S1, would like a Fiesta RS but it's years to come and will probably never happen, Fords logic of end of the line makes no sense given the Focus is coming out now given it's just had a face lift etc. Nothing else I really like for the money, would have a Clio if it came in a 2door, may be the only parent who finds a 2 door easier for small kids, makes it very easy to get in front of them to strap them in having the ability to put the seat forwards, plus they open wider and the gaps are larger. Still, new Clio for 21k or an S1 for just a bit more? stupid choice really. Clios have lost near 10k in 2 years going by 2nd hand values. MattDRX
Still it's going on Saturday so will be carless for a while, £35 train tickets per day next week, whoooooo.
TomsFocus
I ditched one car after just 4 hours ownership...it's never too soon lol. Though tbf the waterpump exploded so I took itback to the trader lol. You're making the right decision though imo, I bought a Vectra 2 years ago (yes, I know :P ) and the damn thing let me down on the first day! I had it delivered the night before, and took it out the next morning, snapped a spring and wrecked a tyre... I knew then I'd never trust/like it but after what I'd paid for it and then paid out for the springs and tyre thought I was too far in to back out. A day later I realsied it was drinking fuel because the 'stat was stuck open...had to spend £70 replacing that, most expensive stat I've ever bought lol, and I hated the bouncy rear end ride as well. Anyway, long story short I I hated and distrusted it so much I barely did any mileage in it, a year later decided to cut my losses and sell it (for an old Peugeot stopgap lol...) and I got back what I'd paid for it anyway!! So no loss there afterall lol, might as well have sold it months beforehand for something I preferred. Lesson learned anyway, if I don't like the car, it goes asap! Philf1
My boss got a 911 but he couldn't afford to run it high fuel costs and extortionate service/repair costs. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC mobile app
