MartyJWard Posted March 24, 2015 Share Posted March 24, 2015 This morning I went to leave for work and started my 2009 Focus 1.6 Zetec. The display showed Engine Malfunction and the engine warning light lit. The engine itself was "pulsing" alternating between higher and lower revs as if I was putting my foot on and off the accelerator. I stopped the engine left it a bit and restarted - the "pulsing" has stopped and it now seems to running OK. The engine light is still on. I had the water pump changed a few months ago and has recently been MOT'd Any ideas what this could be and is it OK to drive it the few mile to the garage to have it looked at?
