Engine Fire 1.8Tdci

Featured Replies

Hi, looking for some advice or to know if anyone else has had problem

Wife was a 59 plate 1.8 focus, Had a small engine fire on sunday.

Just left house and was a strange smell so I had a look about, located a part that had melted.

Put car back in drive and popped bonnet and was a fire.

From looking at it I think was cable running to glow plugs that shorted out or sensor attached to the cable at top of engine. Well this part was on fire as was engine cover.

Wife has warranty with ArnoldClark and got car picked up. However they state not covered. Told her on phone that was glow pugs that were on fire.

So wondering if anyone else has had problem or if can advise of part by looking at picture, mainly as I don't trust ArnoldClark
