Had a loud whistle from the engine, turns out to be the Turbo. £740 for a reconditioned turbo and the Cat cleaned out!

    im no expert but that seems a little expensive, unless it went bang and the engine was fooked?

    also, you don't mention if its a 1.6 or not, if it is then you need to make sure they replace the oil feed pipe, pickup and clean out or replace the sump. The 1.6 suffers from carbon deposits building up in the sump which then blocks the filter in the banjo bolt, this all leads to the turbo starved of oil and the rest usually ends in a lighter wallet!
