Ipod Nano (Old School And Ford Focus 2010 Blaupunkt Stereo

Hi all,

Just tried connecting my old iPod nano to my Focus stereo. Needs a USB and minijack split cable but works a treat.

Only issue is, that I lose all control of what I'm playing on the iPod, and the blaupunkt just plays whats on the iPod A-Z, I can't select an artist etc.

Any suggestions? I've got an old iPhone 4 which I'll try it on. Sounds quality is still better than bluetooth but ability to select tracks would be useful.

Cheers

Dave

You should first perform the latest available Ford Audio update. This update updates the Bluetooth/Voicecontrol to the latest available firmware version. This update solves known issues and improves Phone and iPod compatability.

On the latest firmware version there is no need to use the Y-cable for Ipods and Iphones anymore. After the update the normal USB cable should work perfectly. The Travelpilot FX should be able to fully control the Ipod.

Note that the last Ford Audio Update was released back in 2012. Ford has stopped the support of this system and there will be no further updates. This means the old Bluetooth/Voicecontrol system becomes outdated and some new Phone types may not be 100% compatible.

The Ford Audio Update can be used on Ford vehicles which are equipped with the old Sound & Connect system (Bluetooth/Voicecontrol with USB, Ipod and bluetooth Audio Support). On the Focus MK2.5 this system was available for the Travelpilot FX, Travelpilot NX and Sony radio's.

When Ford stopped the support for this system they also removed all download links from the official Ford websites. However I still have some different versions of the Ford Audio Update. The latest available version can be downloaded from the following website:
