Aux Signal Has Interference - Do Ferrite Cores Work?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Having attached the aux cable and run sound through it from my phone there is EMI noise when the charger is also plugged into the phone. Any ideas on how to rid the line of this noise? Ferrite cores look to be a cheap option, but with only some success.

Phil

This problem is most likely caused by the Phone charger. I also had this problem with a portable DVD system connected to the AUX input on my previous focus MK2.

I solved this problem by installing a cheap interference suppressor between the power output and the charger of the DVD player.

Thanks for the information. Don't suppose you can remember the make / type of the suppressor? Have ordered some of the clip on ferrite types, but open to suggestions.

Coiled wires should also help reduce this noise.
