Hi, what engine is that? Just a 1.6? or is it the ti-vct?

Hwda just standard 1.6 engine, hxda is ti vct,

if it was a runner before engine swap then just a case of rechecking wiring connectors , earths etc. can you get a code reader on it, that might narrow down where the issue is.

Try the crank sensor not familiar with this engine but some are by the gearbox also check all the earth leads are on correctly .

As far as I remember there were differences between manual and automatic engines. If I remember correctly the flywheel and the position of the Crankshaft Position Sensor are different.

he must have swapped flywheel over off old engine orbhe wouldnt have been able to bolt converter on, im wondering if flywheel could be fitted in wrong postion? Normally shouldnt be possible, but crank co6ld be pegged differently . and you say crank sensor could be in different place or even different length,
