Mk1 Focus Seating Question

Featured Replies

Hello guys, just joined the site, i have a 2000, W reg Focus ESP 2L, old but immaculate and has plenty of go in her.

I'm looking to upgrade the seats so i bought a set of ST seats. I went to fit them today and noticed the lower part of the rear seat is in two pieces on the ST set but mine is one piece, this means i will have two brackets i cannot secure in. Thats problem one.

I then looked at the front seats and only got as far as looking at the wiring connectors, the ST and mine are totally different plugs.

Have i bought the wrong set? Is there a way around this? I noticed the ST has airbags in the seats. Is there a how to for this problem as i'm sure i'm not the only one to come across this. Thank you in advance for any info.

Paul

Hi the reason why the wiring is different is because of the electric seat motors to adjust the height, a live can be ran to the switch to make these work. The other connector should line up between the seat and the pretentioner.

As for the brackets I personally would just drill holes and bolt them in place.

Hi Steven, thanks for your reply. I'll have another look at it this weekend, i was rushing so quickly looked at the connector in the car then on the ST seat and thought they wouldn't fit.

I was a bit hesitant to drill as was unsure if i would hit anything behind there for the back seat, again, i'll check it this weekend.

Cheers for the help.
