Help Please With Sony Radio

Featured Replies

My Sony radio in my 2011 titanium is knackered. Its been in at Fords today (service and mot) they say it needs a new one. Does anybody know if the Sony radio fitted in the 2014 fiesta (black air vents, mine are silver) will fit in.....or basically is it the same model ? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks,Richard.

Should do.

No, a facelift sony isn't gonna work in a pre-facelift model.

The pre-facelift model has the old bluetooth/voicecontrol system and the facelift model the SYNC system.

You should be okay with FM, but your AUX/bluetooth/carkit system won't work anymore.

Thanks for the reply.....you've just saved me £180 ! While we are on the subject....my facia stays illuminated 24 hours a day (Sony radio) Its been killing the battery every other day. Tried pulling the audio fuses (stays illuminated) even pulled the battery's negative off (reset) that hasn't worked either. Ford didn't want to know the other day.....because it was one day out of warranty. Any ideas on this problem would also be appreciated. Thanks,Richard.

I do remember a problem with the Focus (or Fiesta, I don't remember), that had the same symptoms.

In those cases the Bluetooth/voicecontrol module was broken. You can easily test this by removing the Bluetooth/voicecontrol module.

Here's a removal video:

Thanks again for your help. I will pull it in bits this weekend.....and see what happens. Failing that,I've sent some emails out for a replacement radio (salvage) Richard.
