Brought a focus 2008 about a month ago from a garage, it's developed a worsening vibration since I bought it and I'm thinking about taking it back as I think it's still under warranty, but it's 3 and a half hours away and I don't want to travel that far for if they aren't going to help me? Advice please

Speed related, vibration through steering wheel, pedals, body, engine speed related, more info required.

Okay it's a petrol 1.6 zetec and the vibration is felt through the clutch pedal mainly but can also be felt through the accelerator, if I press the clutch in and rev it vibrates in a grinding kind of way as the revs get faster, and if I rev highly while driving the accelerator pedal vibrates, it's not massive just enough to notice, although in the clutch pedal it's more noticeable, any help would be appreciated thanks for the replies

I was thinking that but if the clutch is disengages and it still does it doesn't that point to something else? And it's not fitted with a dual mass flywheel I don't think

does this happen whilst driving or stationary? could be something as simple as a heat shield or similar on the exhaust vibrating, rattling under pressure?

  • Author

Happens while driving and while stationary I've had a look and it appears to be all okay must be something internal
