Mk8 To Mk9 Front End Facelift

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I am currently upgrading the front end of my 2012 fiesta to the new Mk 9 style. All is going well although on the new headlights they are the 16pin variety whereas the older lights only had 10pins. I wonder if someone here can advise me what the other wires are for and how I can wire them in. Any advise would be great.

Cheers,

Rob

Mk9? Do you mean Mk7.5?

2012 is known as MK7 in the UK, and even that is factually incorrect as it is only the 6th gen Fiesta :)

The headlights you have, do they include DRLs, that might account for the extra pins?

Hi thanks for you're reply, yes they are DRL's but not sure which wires are for the DRL's and where I can wire them in.

I have attached some pics :)

Thanks

How approachable is your dealer? You really need to get the wiring diagrams.

Also I assume you are replacing the bonnet too? Could be a lot of work involved getting everything to fit.

It was no trouble and not much work to put the new front end on. Just needed bonnet, new lights, new bumper and front bulk head which all cost £450 thanks to ebay :-)

Just wiring the lights is the only issue I'm faced with now.

I haven't tried main dealer purely on the assumption that they'll try to sell me a wiring diagram which I could buy online.

I had hoped by posting on here someone might have experience with the wiring.

Not all dealers would try and charge you for the wiring diagram.

Maybe if you have never visited before, depends on the ones in your area.

I personally don't know the wiring, just a suggestion, hopefully someone on here knows, or can find out though :)
