My unlock button has stopped on the focus flip key, I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Im looking at buying another key fob, but was wondering if it is just the little metal coded bit that syncs with the alarm? Not great with car type technology. I hope that all makes sense what im asking.

the transponder chip is in the 'horseshoe" part not in the remote part. However I believe you need Ford software to add remote on models after the mark 2.

You can add the remote locking part on a Mark 2 as long as you have 2 known keys programmed to the car using the ignition sequence. The transponder either needs programming to the car with suitable software or you need to use the existing transponder from the old key.

If you have a flip key already then using your existing blade with the transponder in it if you have two known keys then it should all be good.

If you have the key, all you need to do is flick the ignition from 0 to II about 5 times, and this will set the car in pairing mode. then press any button on ALL keyfobs you want to unlock the car. This then accepts commands from them. if you transfer the immobiliser chip into the new key it will all work as standard (oh and the blade too!)
