JordFocus
Anyone replaced a front wheel bearing on a 2008 focus without the ford special tool? Cheers! Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
stef123
I have the special tools for doing bearings on the focus but I have done it in the past on a vw without the special tool. I made up my own 'tool' and used my bearing press, worked fine without causing any damage.
iantt
take the wheel knuckle off, and drop it round your local garage and get them to press old one out and new one in. take them all of 5 mins to do. a fiver in the mechanics grubby hand should suffice. Vendee
Jordan, you may find you have to replace the hub complete with bearing.
stef123
Jordan, you may find you have to replace the hub complete with bearing. The hub and bearing are a complete unit, it's a gen2 wheel bearing. Trying to press them in is a fiddle without the correct tool which comprises of plates and spacers and a few other bits.
