Hi All

Ive recently fitted a new radio headunit to my 2014 Focus mainly thanks to help from people on here!

One thing im stumped at is the wiring required to the handbrake - the unit wont allow me to change certain settings unless the handbrake is on which is pretty annoying..

The manual states that the cable must be connected to the power supply side of the parking brake switch, ive not taken it apart yet to not to sure what to expect but when i do get there, what cables should i expect to see and where will i need to connect this?

if its a Chinese clone you have then go to settings and disable it, on the Eonon units there is a setting appropriately called "Brake" turn it off and you all good. Its just a small safety procedure to make sure you don't start waiting Jeremy Kyle whilst waiting on the the M25

the cable can be connected to the handbrake sensor but its really not worth it unless your prone to watching the TV whilst driving.

Im not to bothered about the video stuff to be honest jut want to adjust some screen settings but the manual says the handbrake must be on for these settings to become accessible which is a pain!

you can try just earthing it

in fact I just did a wee google and you should be able to by pass it by connecting that wire to an earth point ( any metal bolt )
